Burn my journals. Tell no one. I would prefer a beach bonfire at sunset, the flames flickering above the fire pit as the sky puts on a spectacular finale to a day I will not see. But if you are feeling melancholy opt for an overcast day, where you feel alone under a gray sky, silence pressing close and creating a blanket of reflection. If you are indifferent, leave them in a tub of water, until they are mildewed, warped and the words are garbled on the page. I would say you can shred them but in the process you might catch words, a sentence, a colorful doodle, a glimpse of my inner world. No. You must destroy them, preferably by fire, down to ash that is indistinguishable.

Well, you know, people don't follow instructions. Kafka requested that all his work be destroyed. Fortunately, his instructions were not obeyed. Glad you are in this 40Days group with me! I might not comment all the time, but I'm here! ("Macoff")
ReplyDelete(slowjamr) Thanks, glad you're here too! And, good reminder- though my sister and I have an agreement, as long as she's still alive I should be good!
