Family gone wrong -- what can you do?
First you buy in because what other
choice have you; then you run if you're strong!
I promise this: you'll never understand
what all the fanfare about mom, dad,
nuclear family is! More atomic
bomb-ic than the term intended. So
what? Where can you turn in society
that is not arranged around different
norms? Marriage, ah yes! Make your own stock
of folks! Fit in ... or don't ... to what, huh?
Friends. & try to repair what you can of
those relationships with people who
ought to know just what you've been through but
no guarantee, take it from me, that'll work.

I kind of enjoy it when you take the tone of an advice-giver. 'Cause it's a POEM. I like the prosey feel, though. More casual than usual for you. And hopeful, too.
ReplyDeleteI like the staccato, crap-shoot delivery of these hard-learned truths.
