dad: gramma's driveway

(after XXXIV by ee cummings)

love may be there,as time is to living
(living means love eating, imagine it)
standing smiling, beaming -- love's loose giving
one yes day to remember(against)

green leaf house happiness backdrop in spring:
before death you dealt, dad, we had a day
(reality is a grinding thing
and you needn't essaying obey)

when gladly i in other aperçu
(doubt's never submission to love success)
of ee or a devotee -- a one who
adores syllables -- never love obsessed

ever bowled over no matter willing
ending's bettering younger guesses possessed.

  1. One reading so far. But do not understand. The syntax is confusing me mightily. Even more than ee.

  3. OK, I get a feeling, or several feelings, from it. Mostly positive (giant category, that). Despite "death" being in there. The whole poem is surprising. I gotta say it's a bit more friendly to MY kind of mind than ee's, which I have sitting right next to it in a text file. His reads more like MATH. (Macoff, as above)
