What if I had met my dad?
What if I had accepted my draft classification?
Or complied with my religious vows?
Or wedding vows?
What if I knew I was enough a long time ago?
What if I had gotten enough sleep the last few nights to imagine all of these potential paths?
Well, I didn’t and I can’t imagine a thing tonight,
Except how good sleep is going to feel.

The "what ifs" are okay to contemplate. Good sleep is better. Blessings.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I think that good sleep is EXACTLY the time to imagine other paths... (Macoff)
