Big belly laugh or torrent of tears? I don't know which alternative to turn to this stressful week.
Work’s been the theatre of the absurd lately. Plenty of nominees for biggest-pain-in-the-butt customers to choose from. A little sarcasm or dark humor will provide some much needed laughter.
Or I could put my head on the desk and cry. My mother’s health is rapidly deteriorating. My sister’s mother-in-law is dealing with a stroke and advanced lung cancer. My heart aches for them.
Maybe I’ll stay calm and focused. Maybe I won’t. Maybe some fresh air will help. It won’t. The pollen is insanely high today.
The tears well up in my eyes as I walk into the bathroom to splash cool water on my face. Now my eye makeup looks like I’ve been sobbing. When I see myself in the mirror, I laugh out loud at my raccoon eyes. Relief at last!
