Mama's Drama

I didn't want to listen, let alone believe her. I was livid, fed up with my sister's victim mentality. She said we were plotting behind her back, deliberately leaving her out of plans about our elderly mother's care.

In fact, after years of conflict, I didn't give a single damn about what she had to say.

Tonight it's a different story. I listened and now I believe her. She is not the villain we thought.

Turns out that our mother is not the saint in this saga but in reality the sinner. She tells the sister who lives with her one story and the other three siblings another. Anger, tears and hurt feelings ensue. Now that our mother is approaching 95, we all the want the best for her. She won't tell any of us what she wants, just what she doesn't want. And all her options involve spending money. That she refuses to do.

So I am ready to take my sister's advice and call out Mama on her drama. I'm going to tell her stop it now and be straight with us. We are on the same team, her team, so it makes no sense to pit us against each other like boxers in the ring. This round is over.

  2. How hard. Mainly I'm glad that you and your sisters have found the truth among yourselves. Hoping for peace.
