Most of the people I am no longer close to is because of distance and being at different places in our lives. When I started dating my husband, we hung out with two wonderful couples. Then we got married and started our family just as they were becoming empty nesters and grandparents. Now, one couple lives in Mexico and the widow of the other pair lives in Flagstaff, AZ. It would be fun to reconnect once we start to travel again. Maintaining friendships takes effort and these people would be worth it. We have enough history together to pick up right where we left off. Luckily, I see snippets of their lives on social media, so I’m not wondering where they are.
Today, I am not writing about the family member I am borderline estranged from.
PS I am so enjoying all the words of my fellow Dippers! Thanks for sharing your daily writing/poetry/sagas.

And to you the same. smiling ....
ReplyDeleteWow. This is so "meta": "Today, I am not writing about the family member I am borderline estranged from." I think you have written enough about that family member for a while. This particular piece of writing seems very "grounded" for lack of a better word. I appreciate where you are in your life. (Macoff)
