Corgi & Bess II: Buckingham

no where more sure than the palace —
it’s been in the family, y’know, for a while
and wandering the grounds with the hounds
(“corgis” didn’t rhyme)
always a nice respite …
from worries of state …

that the people might wake one day,
take it all away.

then what to do with
her old bag of bones
and the dogs?

but Bess is gone now
and no longer need be concerned
that she’d lose it all …

maybe, however, she misses the pups.

  1. Oh, haha, the "meta" of "(“corgis” didn’t rhyme)." I do feel that the ROYAL conglomeration over there is merely the equivalent of our Hollywood "royalty," only more rule-bound and organized. The people actually CRAVE it. You are saying they do so in their sleep? (Macoff)
