I scrolled through my phone calendar and I’m looking forward to a haircut on Tuesday. Wednesday is the beginning of Passover and one of my friends asked if I could hang out with her two adult sons’ new puppy so they can be together at their traditional Seder. I’m looking forward to pup sitting for a couple hours. Thursday is the day this same friend and I volunteer in the Chemocessories office putting together sets of a scarf, turban, earrings, bracelet and necklace for woman undergoing chemotherapy. It’s just the two of us, so we chat the whole time. On Good Friday I’m looking forward to walking the labyrinth at one of my churches. I’ll pick up a friend to join me if there are no complications with her cataract surgery. I’ll probably drive out to my mother’s home early Saturday morning. My sister is coming to get her for Easter and it’s easier if I help get her packed and organized so they can get on the road. Easter Sunday. Monday morning I’ll drive to the Irvine Spectrum Center to meet my sister in the parking lot. Mom and her yipper dog will be helped into the passenger seat and then her walker, clothes, toiletries and food will go in the trunk, frunk, and backseat of my car. I’ll drive her back to Pasadena, get her settled, and return to my home. Tuesday is the final Ladies, Literacy, and Lunch event hosted by a bookseller friend. I have received her emails for years, but never been brave enough to attend. I made my reservation to have a delicious lunch, hear an author talk about her new book, and support literary nonprofits. I meet with my new/second opinion neurologist for a follow up appointment on June 1st to see what the blood tests revealed. I’m looking forward to my 50 year high school reunion on June 24th. I always carpool with the same women and this one should be a blast.
